We absolutely love sharing our knowledge of the industry! It all stems from feeling passionate about weddings and always wanting to set our clients up for success. We know that planning a wedding for the first time can be daunting, so we thought we’d help you out a bit.
DAY LONG . TROPICAL . LOVEFEST
One of the best perks of being a wedding planner is becoming friends with all the wonderful vendors I work with. The story about how I met this adorable couple is a long one, but ultimately I became friends with the bride when she and I began working together. For me it was huge when they decided they had to hire me to coordinate their super non-traditional, day long love fest. From the beginning they were clear that they wanted it to feel like a slightly jazzed up version of how they typically spend time with their family and friends. The day started with the most beautiful and emotional ceremony I have ever seen. The guests gathered around the couple as they read their personalized vows. Literally everyone was sobbing tears of happiness and joy for them (including my whole team). After the ceremony, all the guests headed down to the beach for bloody marys, musubi and hand rolls. After all the guests had a chance to take a siesta and freshen up everyone headed down the street to the reception. We designed the reception to be a casual boho lounge. While the guests sipped cocktails and swung in hammocks, the caterers grilled kabobs over an open fire pit. Between the early impromptu dancing, the most heart warming toasts and the tastiest rice crispy treats known to man, the reception was a hit! This wedding truly lived up to what Love Letter Weddings strives to accomplish with every event. It was unique, it was extremely sentimental and most important, it was a true reflection of these two beautiful people.
EFFORTLESSLY COOL . AQUARIUM . FIESTA
At Love Letter Weddings, we absolutely love it when fellow industry professionals get married!! Not only do they totally get what is involved in pulling everything off, but they also have tons of industry friends who pitch in to make the day a success! It makes for such a personal event full of love. This couple chose a super fun venue, the Waikiki Aquarium. We decorated the tables with fairy lights, homemade jars of pickles and preserves and rustic wood boxes full of gorgeous king protea. The Mexican style feast (that the groom prepared himself) was served family style. After dinner everyone got on the dance floor and danced the night away to a Jawaiian Reggae Band. We totally love how all these super random elements came together to create the perfect event for this couple!
QUIRKY . CHINATOWN . DINNER PARTY
This incredibly fun couple hired me two months before their wedding date and we were so impressed with what we were able to put together! They had a dream of doing a super quirky Grand Budapest Hotel inspired fete. They also really loved the idea of having their wedding at one of their favorite restaurants, Pig and The Lady, in Honolulu's Chinatown district. The combination of all these random elements was so much fun to work with. Some of our favorite parts of the wedding were when all the children invited to the wedding sang to the bride and groom as they walked down the aisle together. We also had a ton of fun making homemade marshmallows to go inside the Mendel's inspired pink favor boxes. Lastly, instead of an MC, we decided to have cue cards held up for the audience to announce the toasts and the cake cutting. We love when our clients want to break from tradition. It gives us so many opportunities to think outside the box and come up with some of our absolute favorite weddings.
